“On a recent trip to through Death Valley enroute to Beatty, NV, I developed a leak on my front half shaft sea. This seal had been replaced the day before with an OEM part. In Beatty I noticed when I parted the Tacoma it had a small puddle of fluid under the shaft area. being so remote there are only two hardware store and I managed to find Bar's Stop Leak for Engine Oil. I figured most seal must be the same and since I was 80 miles from the nearest car store this might work. I added the oil and drove about 40 mile stopping every 10 mile or so to check the fluid level. I had very small wet area on the shaft. “Engine is a 400 SBC with Crower Racing Cam, Solid Lifters, Brodix High Rise Intake/ 750 Holley Double Pumper. Bottom Line, engine was professionally built, but sat in garage for 3 yrs. “I own a 1980 Chevrolet Malibu drag race car. I run a 355 small block Chevy with nitrous. Mildly tuned, the car runs in the high 8’s for a quarter mile.
